Helene Hadsell, the woman with the 50-year winning streak. Helene has never lost a single contest she has entered. Featured in many magazines, Helene wrote "The Name It and Claim It Game" years back and sold millions of copies, until she decided to retire.

Considering the current economic scenario and the countless requests from people, she has come back to share her knowledge with world.

Dr. Michael J. Orlosky, MD MMM, CPE is a special contributor for the Senior Voice. Dr. Orlosky is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Human Capital Specialists, Inc.and Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine.

Perhaps the greatest expert on living successfully was Erik Erikson, who in the 1950’s provided a roadmap of life’s challenges and how to live them well. Erikson divided life into eight stages (unlike Shakespeare who had seven stages!) starting with infancy and ending with that final years of one’s life.

Meals-on-Wheels Celebrates the “Greatest Generation” throughout March

Dorothy and Charles BurnsAll month long, in celebration of “March for Meals,” Meals-on-Wheels is honoring the clients they serve, many who are part of the “greatest generation.” Dorothy Burns of Alvarado is just one of the many clients Meals-on-Wheels serves who has sacrificed so much. You might say she was one of the early pioneers for her gender, although the Meals-on-Wheels client only smiles at the suggestion.

Ms. Texas Senior America participants are serious about their achievements and pageants, enough so that they formed the Cameo Club to earn money to support ongoing pageants. The ladies utilize their many talents by performing at retirement communities, assisted living, Veterans Affairs hospitals, etc.
The Cameo Club raises monies to support the pageant, while a pageant committee solicits eight levels of sponsorship, ranging from $250 to $5,000.
